Ask a Bookseller

The Ask a Bookseller feature is the online equivalent of hand-selling a book. It adds the ‘Ask a Bookseller’ button to products that cannot be purchased for any reason. Customers can use this to ask staff questions about specific titles or related titles. The button opens a webform that customers complete. The built-in webform comes with some default fields, you can modify the webform to include additional fields. 

Only Site Administrators can configure Ask a Bookseller.

All components and fields with a red asterisk (*) are required. 

Enable Ask a Bookseller

Enable the Ask a Bookseller button.

  1. Select Commerce in the left menu, then Fulfillment Settings.
  2. Expand Ask a Bookseller
  3. Select Enable Ask a Bookseller feature
  4. Select Save.

Modify Webform

View the webform elements and add elements. 

  1. Select Create in the left menu, then Webform.
  2. Select Build in the Operations column for the Ask a Bookseller form. 
  3. Select + Add element, select an element to add, configure the element, then select Save to add an element to the webform. For example, you might want to add a phone number field in case the customer wants staff to call them. 
  4. Select Save elements to save the webform. 

View Webform Submissions

View the webform submissions to answer questions asked by the customers. 

  1. Select Create in the left menu, then Webform.
  2. Select Results in the Operations column for the Ask a Bookseller form to view the submissions

Select Download to download the submissions and questions as a spreadsheet.
